\nFrankly, I love Oribe but it’s horribly expensive (about $42 for 300 ml) so if I can find a decent alternative that is cheaper, I am all for it!<\/p>\n
For the moment, I’ve seen some dupes which seemed interesting but mostly on English blogs… And unfortunately for me, these kind of products fall under a\u00a0lot of delivery restrictions because they are\u00a0highly flammable. So I have to find them here (same for nail polishes). Online orders from abroad aren’t possible!<\/p>\n
I must add that now, the brand Oribe is available here in Dubai (at Harvey Nichols), which is good news. But sadly, it doesn’t solve the problem of the astronomical price!<\/p>\n
Reminder on dry texturizing spray for hair:<\/h3>\n
This product, which comes in spray format, would be a bit like an illegitimate child of a dry shampoo (its completely transparent, but without any dry residue) and a hairspray. It has to be sprayed on the hair roots to\u00a0give\u00a0nice volume to your hair<\/strong> (and it holds).<\/p>\n It can be applied onto damp hair before blow-drying it (but I’m not a fan of this technique, I find it too sticky to do the blow-dry correctly) or just on dry hair to give a little ‘oomph’ (it’s what I do most of the time). L’Or\u00e9al Professionnel released a new range of styling products last spring. This range is called Wild Stylers<\/a> and consists in 4 products supposed to give a wild effect to your hair (duh). The range is represented by Kirsten Dunst on advertising visuals.<\/p>\n In Dubai, we got\u00a0this range much later than the rest of the world (what a surprise!). And not all the products… Well whatever, it was the spray Cr\u00eapage de Chignon I had on my radar and that one, I managed to find it at a hair salon in Marina Mall.<\/p>\n This product is a powder fixing spray<\/strong> that you have to spray onto your hair, specifically the areas you want to bring more volume to. All that for $20<\/strong>, which is so much cheaper than Oribe, isn’t it?<\/p>\n I will not beat around the bush, I really hated this product<\/strong>.<\/p>\n I tried it first as the brand recommend it, on damp hair and I found it super sticky and my hair roots were crunchy and weird<\/strong>… And when I tried to put \u00a0less product, it was like I had\u00a0nothing on my hair. No-thing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n So I tried to use it like I’m used to with Oribe, namely on dry hair and I found that the spray was not particularly dry, it tended to dampen my hair (I wasn’t expecting that at all). I didn’t really feel the texturizing effect either… I was pretty disappointed because, well, $20 is less than 42 of course (when I splurge on Oribe) but it’s still $20!<\/p>\n I don’t know about you, but it’s not the first time I mess up with a styling product. I find this kind of product is not always easy to use, except if you’re a hairdresser. I often had that kind of super-glue experience in my hair or on the contrary, the unpleasant feeling of “this product did nothing at all for my hair”… So please, L’Or\u00e9al Professionnel, can you provide me a cool hair stylist with my product next time? Fred<\/a> for example, it would be nice. Thanks!<\/p>\n
