Yippee, Marlena from Makeup Geek<\/a>\u00a0added some new shades in the\u00a0Foiled eyeshadows\u00a0range!!!<\/h2>\n

Remember, I discovered the Foiled eyeshadows last December and I’m still totally obsessed with this formula. I did a review\u00a0about the first shades<\/a> a few months ago.<\/p>\n

For spring, Marlena, the Makeup Geek founder added 10 new colors<\/strong> to the collection! These are rather pastel colors, perfect for the season. And I fell for 5 of them as soon as they were launched… \u00a0Surprising, isn’t it? (not really ;P )<\/p>\n

Besides, I would like to add that I was impressed by\u00a0the professionalism<\/strong> of the Makeup Geek customer service:\u00a0when I received my eyeshadows, 4 of the 5 I ordered were\u00a0totally\u00a0broken, but they didn’t hesitate to send me new ones when I asked. Impeccable<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

I’m still a big fan of the formula of these eyeshadows. These are really one of my favorite eyeshadows at the moment. They also completely dethroned the NARS Dual-Intensity <\/a>in the pantheon of my favorite metallic eyeshadows. (which is great because the MUG Foiled eyeshadows are 3 times cheaper than the NARS wink<\/span> )<\/p>\n

The texture, formula, pigmentation, coverage etc. are always more or less the same as the first shades\u00a0Makeup Geek released\u00a0last winter.
\nSome eyeshadows are a little bit more powdery but it doesn’t change their intensity or their lasting power.

But I’d like to insist on the fact that you do need\u00a0to wear an eyeshadow primer<\/strong> underneath, even if you don’t have oily eyelids like me, because it’s an oil-based formula. This kind of formula can crease without a primer.
\nBut with my loyal Nars primer<\/a>, I don’t\u00a0worry at all and the lasting power\u00a0is excellent! (10 h without smudging)<\/p>\n

As you can see, I chose very spring themed colors. It was exactly\u00a0what I wanted for the season! smile<\/span> <\/p>\n

– Whimsical:
\n<\/strong>A very pale pink<\/strong>, almost “frozen<\/strong>“. I love to use it for a very intense highlight in the inner corner, he brings out the color of your eyes\u00a0immediately. For an\u00a0evening makeup, for example, it’s perfect! Applied alone\u00a0on the eyelid, it’s also very pretty, especially if you have fair skin.<\/p>\n

– Starry Eyed:
\n<\/strong>I think that it’s my favorite Foiled… This is the perfect champagne beige with\u00a0light pink shimmer<\/strong>.
\nIt may sound like a boring color but not at all. It goes with everything, it’s neither a warm color or a cool one. And as it’s extremely shiny and metallic, it’s very luminous on the skin. I love it and I use it with all the time. In the inner\u00a0corner, alone on the eyelid, paired\u00a0with darker or brighter colors, with matte shades… I could use it every day without a problem!<\/p>\n

– Charmed:
\n<\/strong>This one however, even if I love the shade,\u00a0was not really the best choice for me… It is a sublime light olive green<\/strong>\u00a0with silver shimmer<\/strong>. And sadly, if there is a hint of gray in the color, it makes me look very tired. So I must absolutely pair it with other shades\u00a0to make it wearable for me. I tried to combine it with many colors, and I’ve found that the combination with pink or plum was not bad on me. I’m still in the testing phase with this shade, so your suggestions are welcome if you have ideas for pretty combinations\u00a0with this kind of shade! wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

– Day Dreamer:
\n<\/strong>Day Dreamer\u00a0was also not the best choice for me. It’s a metallic lilac shade<\/strong>, very pretty indeed but I had to\u00a0find the right combination\u00a0to make it work without feeling I was wearing\u00a0too many colors on my eyes.
\nI guess it’s a matter of habit and personal preference, but I prefer bright colors in my eyes in small\u00a0touches, not all over. I can wear them used as an eyeliner without any problems. But even used in the outer V, I like to keep a very light hand. So for now, I haven’t yet found a way to use\u00a0this eyeshadow that satisfies\u00a0me 100%.<\/p>\n

– Masquerade:
\n<\/strong>However this very pretty bright purple<\/strong>\u00a0is perfect to make my eyes pop! The undertone is slightly reddish, so it works fine with my eyes color. I particularly love using this one along my lower lashes but it’s also very pretty in the outer corner or why not on the entire eyelid for a more intense look.
\nI’m not sure why but it’s slightly less metallic than the others<\/strong> shades, you will see it on the swatches.

And here are swatchs to compare\u00a0with other Foiled and also a classic MUG eyeshadow, Shimma Shimma<\/a>, which is usually one of the most luminous. There, it’s almost dull beside to the Foiled eyeshadows! wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

In this look, I used Whimsical<\/a> in the inner corner and also in \u00a0the center of the eyelid to give a maximum shine to the makeup look.
\nFor the rest of the makeup, I used Barcelona Beach<\/a> in the crease and Prom Night<\/a>\u00a0 (both by\u00a0Makeup Geek) on the eyelid.
\nMy lipstick is MAC Fanfare<\/a>. (MAC website has finally changed! Alleluia!!!)<\/p>\n

– Starry Eyed:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here, I used Starry Eyed<\/a> on the entire eyelid and also in the inner corner to give a lot of glow\u00a0to the eyes.
\nI paired it with Latte<\/a> in the crease\u00a0and Grandstand<\/a>\u00a0(both by MUG)\u00a0in the outer corner.
\nMy lipstick is Frenemie by ColourPop (from the In Bloom<\/a>\u00a0set).<\/p>\n

– Charmed:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really struggled to find a color combination that I liked with this shade… I finally choosed\u00a0pink tones to remain in a “Spring makeup” spirit. So I used Charmed<\/a> on the entire eyelid and along the lower lash with Whimsical<\/a> in the inner corner and I used MUG Unexpected<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0crease.
\nI’m wearing YSL Volupt\u00e9 Tint In Oil #5<\/a> on the lips.<\/p>\n

– Day Dreamer:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This one was also a little difficult for me… It looks really, really purple used like this. I’m not sure I really\u00a0adore it.
\nI also used Unexpected<\/a> in the crease, Day Dreamer<\/a> on the entire eyelid, Whimsical<\/a> in the inner corner and Wisteria<\/a>\u00a0(also by MUG) along the lower lash line.
\nMy lipstick is MAC Peach Blossom<\/a>.<\/p>\n

– Masquerade:<\/strong><\/p>\n

My favorite look!
\nHere, I used Masquerade<\/a> along the lower lash line. And I made a chocolate brown smokey with Cocoa Bear<\/a> in the crease\u00a0and Brown Sugar<\/a> on the entire eyelid. I also put a tiny bit of Grandstand<\/a> in the center of my\u00a0eyelid.
\nMy lipstick is again Peach Blossom<\/a> MAC. (it’s my favorite at the moment)<\/p>\n
