And I also remember while working at Le Bon March\u00e9, where the brand had a stall, it was already among the <strong>best-sellers<\/strong> of Kielh&#8217;s brand.<br \/>\nKielh&#8217;s was just starting in France (when I worked at\u00a0le Bon March\u00e9 in 2003) and nobody knew how to pronounce the\u00a0name. <span class=\"wp-smiley emoji emoji-wink\" title=\";)\">wink<\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Kielh&#8217;s is an <strong>American brand created in 1851 by a New York pharmacis<\/strong>t, John Kielh. The company changed owners several times before becoming part of the\u00a0<strong>L&#8217;Or\u00e9al<\/strong> group in 2000. Of course, L&#8217;Or\u00e9al helped the brand improve\u00a0its\u00a0global development and Kielh&#8217;s now has many more points of sale worldwide, including more than 300 stores under its own name.<\/p>\n<p>The Kiehl&#8217;s brand concept is &#8220;to offer its customers effective formulas developed with the most advanced technologies\u00a0and highly concentrated natural ingredients .&#8221;<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s something you often hear at the moment with skincare brands: <strong>technology<\/strong> (guarantee of efficiency and modernity)\u00a0<strong>based on nature<\/strong> (for the authentic touch).<\/p>\n<h3>Kiehl&#8217;s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, presentation:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"full-width\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kiehls_midnight_recovery_concentrate.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7341\" src=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kiehls_midnight_recovery_concentrate.jpg\" alt=\"Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>To be honest, I hadn&#8217;t understood what was this product was for a very long time&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I first thought it was a regular <strong>serum<\/strong> but actually, it can be applied alone so it&#8217;s more a <strong>concentrate<\/strong>. (I explained the difference in my article <a href=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/en\/2015\/02\/17\/the-truth-about-serums\/\" target=\"_blank\">The truth about serums<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Then, the product name is <strong>complicated<\/strong>. It&#8217;s all in English, no French translation, which is utterly disturbing for me, I&#8217;m not gonna lie. Even with the super lousy translation, it reassures me to read some French words on a beauty product. <span class=\"wp-smiley emoji emoji-wink\" title=\";)\">wink<\/span><br \/>\nAnd even if I now understand the name of the product, when I was younger, I got confused a little bit. I thought it was for very sensitive, damaged skin, which needed to be repaired. Creates a brighter and more radiant look to skin.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contentasset\">\n<div id=\"ing-ingredienArea\">\n<div id=\"ing-copy\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">A signature Kiehl\u2019s ingredient, Squalane is a botanical lipid that is similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids. It has an exceptional affinity to skin, and because it\u2019s easily absorbed, Squalane helps restore skin\u2019s natural moisture balance to keep it extra soft and supple.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So it&#8217;s an anti-aging product, or to be more precise, a product that <strong>preserves the youth of the skin<\/strong> and it has to be <strong>applied at night<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the bad news is that after about 25, the skin regeneration process slows down,\u00a0<del>\u00a0it&#8217;s the beginning of the end<\/del> and the skin appears more marked and less resistant to fatigue.<br \/>\nMoreover, it&#8217;s usually during the <strong>night<\/strong> that the skin <strong>repairs<\/strong> itself most effectively. So using \u200b\u200ba night care product that aims to boost the cell regeneration is a great idea.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, when you&#8217;re using a product that acts on cell regeneration, the results to be expected are the following:<br \/>\n&#8211; the skin is <strong>smoother and plumper<\/strong> when you wake up<br \/>\n&#8211; the skin <strong>moisture<\/strong>\u00a0is preserved (but if the skin is very dehydrated, it may not be enough, here, the objective is\u00a0more about maintaining hydration)<br \/>\n&#8211; the formation of <strong>lines and wrinkles<\/strong> is slowed down<br \/>\n&#8211; the <strong>healing<\/strong> is accelerated (perfect if you get\u00a0hormonal acne, like me).<\/p>\n<p>In my opinion, it&#8217;s a product which is better to use between <strong>25 and 40<\/strong>. After 35-40, the skin needs more stimulating ingredients to act on the visible signs of aging.<\/p>\n<p>Kielh&#8217;s gives no age limit for the use of this product, but quite honestly, I doubt that a 60-year-old will see a stunning result with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>Kiehl&#8217;s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, my test and review:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"full-width\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kiehls_midnight_recovery_concentrate_open.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7340\" src=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kiehls_midnight_recovery_concentrate_open.jpg\" alt=\"Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>First, let me talk about my own (face) skin.<\/p>\n<p>I am <strong>36 years old<\/strong>, a rather <strong>oily skin<\/strong> with <strong>visible pores<\/strong> and relatively persistent <strong>hormonal acne<\/strong> (I stopped my birth control pill more than a\u00a0year ago and my skin has been acting like that of\u00a0a teenager again, yeaaay).<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t really have any wrinkles yet but I tend to have a\u00a0skin that <strong>marks<\/strong> if I don&#8217;t get enough sleep. I have no real concern for lack of firmness, and about dark sunspots, if I protect well my skin (and <a href=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/en\/2014\/04\/04\/daily-uv-protection-the-best-anti-age-skin-care-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\">I protect every day with a high SPF <\/a>since living here in sunny Dubai), they don&#8217;t come bothering me.<\/p>\n<p>When I started using the <strong>Midnight Recovery Concentrate<\/strong>, I was hoping to see a result on the general appearance of my skin: a <strong>radiant<\/strong>, <strong>cleared out skin<\/strong>\u00a0and I also wanted the product to <strong>heal my acne scars<\/strong>.<br \/>\nI also had some areas of my face where my skin was slightly <strong>dehydrated<\/strong>. Nothing dramatic but I was feeling it, and my makeup was quite patchy in some areas of my face.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my detailed opinion about this concentrate:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Packaging:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a blue<strong> glass<\/strong> bottle with a pipette, which is very retro. A real pharmacist vial from\u00a0last century! On the practical side, the dark blue glass packaging allows to <strong>preserve the formula<\/strong> which contains many vegetable oils. Obviously, it isn&#8217;t ideal if you&#8217;re clumsy (like me). But miraculously, I haven&#8217;t let it fall in my sink &#8230; I&#8217;ve probably been lucky! <span class=\"wp-smiley emoji emoji-wink\" title=\";)\">wink<\/span><br \/>\nI&#8217;m quite a fan of the pipette system, which I find convenient to distribute the right amount of product.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Texture:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a <strong>very fine oil<\/strong> that is quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving it shiny. Even on my oily skin, I don&#8217;t feel it is greasy at all.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Smell:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A very <strong>botanical scent<\/strong> with a strong\u00a0<strong>lavender<\/strong> scent. I personally love it but be warned if you prefer more neutral scents&#8230;<br \/>\nI personally love smelling lavender before going to sleep, I find it very <strong>relaxing<\/strong>! <span class=\"wp-smiley emoji emoji-wink\" title=\";)\">wink<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Formule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The full list of ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>Caprylic\/Capric Triglyceride,\u00a0Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Squalane,\u00a0Rosa Canina Fruit Oil,\u00a0Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil,\u00a0Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil,\u00a0Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander) Seed Oil,\u00a0Tocopherol, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil,\u00a0Linalool, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil,\u00a0Citronellol,\u00a0Geraniol, Lavandula Hybrida Oil,\u00a0Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber)\u00a0Fruit Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract,\u00a0Limonene, Citral, Sclareolide, Rose Flower Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil<\/p>\n<p>A rather clean composition (99.8% of natural origin ingredients) with no mineral oils, no silicone, no synthetic perfume, no parabens.<br \/>\n&#8211; a lot of <strong>vegetable oils<\/strong> such as rosehip oil, evening primrose oil, jojoba oil, coriander, lavender, geranium, rosemary, rose, sunflower,<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>plant extracts<\/strong> like cucumber extract and Jasmine<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>squalane<\/strong>, an ingredient which preserves the skin hydro-lipid film (which protects the skin by regulating its hydration).<\/p>\n<div class=\"full-width\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kiehls_midnight_recovery_concentrate_hand.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7342\" src=\"https:\/\/bonniegarner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/kiehls_midnight_recovery_concentrate_hand.jpg\" alt=\"Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I put about <strong>3 drops<\/strong> of product in my hand, then I take it using my fingertips with the other hand.<br \/>\nI apply the product by <strong>light pressure<\/strong> on the face and the neck. I try not to massage too much the product as this tends to break the ingredients of teh formula.<\/p>\n<p>It can be applied on its own if you want but since I&#8217;m totally addicted to my night cream (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.yonka.fr\/produit\/phyto-52\" target=\"_blank\">Phyto 52 by Yon-Ka<\/a>), I use it above it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Result:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The result was very obvious at the beginning.<br \/>\nI definitely see that my skin looks <strong>better when I wake up<\/strong>, it&#8217;s more <strong>radiant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t really have less acne but I have clearly less black heads and I also find that the product accelerates the <strong>healing of my acne scars<\/strong>, which is pretty amazing!<\/p>\n<p>My dehydrated areas look better than before. It feels more <strong>comfortable<\/strong> and I&#8217;ve noticed an improvement in <strong>the aspect of my skin<\/strong> but it was in the long term (after 3 months). So if your skin is ultra dehydrated, I think it would be better to rely on stronger (more potent) treatments such as moisturizing serum and a good intensive moisturizing face mask! <span class=\"wp-smiley emoji emoji-wink\" title=\";)\">wink<\/span> <\/p>\n<p>After five months, I can&#8217;t see as efficient\u00a0results as\u00a0I saw at the beginning of my treatment but overall it keeps my skin quite well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Value For Money:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The big pro of this product.<strong> It never ends<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>I have the 50ml bottle (the price: <strong>$70<\/strong>) but since it will probably last at least <strong>10 months<\/strong>, I find it quite cheap! <span class=\"wp-smiley emoji emoji-wink\" title=\";)\">wink<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Availability:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is available in Kiehl&#8217;s stores or in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kiehls.com\/Midnight-Recovery-Concentrate\/819,default,pd.html?start=1&amp;cgid=face-serums\" target=\"_blank\">brand website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>In summary:<\/h3>\n<p>[wprs-pros][wprs-cons]<\/p>\n<p>In summary, it&#8217;s a good product but I&#8217;m not sure I would buy it again,\u00a0it if I am 100% honest. I want to try products more suited to my age (#oldlady) and frankly, I already have the famous\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uk.spacenk.com\/luna-sleeping-night-oil\/MUK200015153.html\" target=\"_blank\">Luna by Sunday Riley<\/a>\u00a0in my radar&#8230; Have you tried it?
