A foundation with an invisible coverage, compatible with 4K technology, this is the claim of the new foundation by Make Up For Ever, the Ultra HD<\/a>.<\/h2>\n

I am a big fan of the brand’s base products. I have used many\u00a0of them\u00a0for several years now and I have always been very happy with them<\/a>. However, I had never tested the old HD version (launched in 2008) but when I saw the video of Wayne Goss<\/a> about\u00a0the new Ultra HD foundation, shot especially in 4K, I got very excited.<\/p>\n

The product was launched exclusively on Sephora.fr<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0July, so I ordered a bottle to test it.<\/p>\n

I tried it and… well, I was not impressed. My skin was certainly very radiant\u00a0with this foundation\u00a0but after a few hours (2-3 hours), it became\u00a0way too shiny. I told myself that well, maybe testing this during very hot and sweaty summer\u00a0in Dubai was not necessarily the best\u00a0idea.
\nSo I took it with me during my holidays in\u00a0France to try it again in more “normal” temperatures (normal for me in any case\u00a0;) ). And unfortunately, it didn’t change anything, I was still looking like a disco ball\u00a0after 3 hours and the lasting power\u00a0was\u00a0also\u00a0not so great…<\/p>\n

In the meantime, I received an invitation from Make Up For Ever to witness the launch of the Ultra HD foundation here in Dubai. The product will soon be available here at Sephora (on October the 1st) and the brand had organised a beautiful event\u00a0to introduce the Ultra HD.
\nI put a lot of small videos and photos of the event on Snapchat<\/strong> (if you want to follow me, just add me at bonniegarner smile<\/span> ) and Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During this event, I had the privilege to meet Dany Sanz<\/a>, the brilliant founder of the brand Make Up For Ever and I was\u00a0able to ask her more specific questions about this new product. By the way, I really appreciated chatting with her; she’s super simple, funny and accessible.
\nIn short, a highly interesting and informative exchange!<\/p>\n

So, Dany gave me tips on how to optimize the use of this foundation on my skin. Well, after that, she\u00a0told me\u00a0in confidence that the Mat Velvet +<\/a> could be a\u00a0great match\u00a0for my skin type (already have it, love it), and that it also works very well with cameras. The fact that she speaks so frankly was totally refreshing! smile<\/span> <\/p>\n

So this\u00a0foundation is supposed to have an\u00a0ultra-natural and even\u00a0imperceptible finish and also\u00a0brightens the skin.\u00a0In fact, all these claims remind me of the Dior Star<\/a> foundation, launched around the same time last year…
\nWe’re still in this famous”photoshop” effect, so trendy right now with\u00a0the Instagram era and its many selfies.<\/p>\n

However, Make Up For Ever<\/strong> has a real legitimacy in this area, because the brand is often used on movie sets, in TV studios or for photos shoots. The first version of the HD foundation was already created in partnership with professionals from the movie\u00a0industry and photographers to meet the new technical requirements created by digital cameras.
\nWith the Ultra HD<\/strong>, the brand\u00a0adapts its product to the latest technological advances in this area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD liquid foundation, my test and thoughts:<\/h3>\n

– Innovation and formula:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The technology of 4K<\/strong> cameras has existed for several years in the movie industry and soon the first smartphones equipped with 4K cameras<\/strong> will arrive.
\nMake Up For Ever has chosen to improve the formula of its HD foundation (released in 2008) to relase\u00a0an Ultra HD version. In the era of social media\u00a0like Instagram and Snapchat, the brand bets on\u00a0technological innovation.<\/p>\n

Formula wise, this foundation contains soft-focus pigments<\/strong> that will bring a blurring\u00a0effect and also unify the skin texture, a Chinese berry<\/strong> to brighten the complexion and some silicone elastomers<\/strong> to smooth\u00a0irregularities (wrinkles, fine lines, small scars etc.).<\/p>\n

– Color range:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Make Up For Ever offers 40 different shades for its Ultra HD foundation. Impressive!<\/p>\n

To create\u00a0these 40 colors, the brand has worked with Sephora (also part of\u00a0the LVMH group<\/a>, like Make Up For Ever). Using data collected worldwide via the diagnostic Pantone Color Profile tool, the teams had a very precise\u00a0idea of \u200b\u200bthe different skin tones they could use to create the different shades of this foundation.<\/p>\n

These shades are divided into two big\u00a0categories: the colors with a yellow undertone (the name of the color begins with the letter Y, as Yellow) and those with pink undertones (these begin with the letter R, as Red).
\nEach of these colors will replace the old and complete the range of HD foundations.
\nTo help you, here are the equivalences with the old HD color range:<\/p>\n

The shades 150 and 185 have been discontinued. And there are also 16 brand new colors that complete the range.<\/p>\n

I don’t know if it helps you to choose your color, but I’m usually MAC NC20 in winter and NC25 in summer.<\/p>\n

– Packaging:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The bottle is luxurious<\/strong>, but still very convenient<\/strong> as it’s a plastic container, which I quite like with my legendary clumsiness.<\/p>\n

Small detail that I greatly appreciate: it has a pump<\/strong>! (Can you hear that, Est\u00e9e Lauder Double Wear<\/a>, a PUMP! It’s really convenient, you should try it! wink<\/span> )<\/p>\n

– Application:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

With a claim of being an imperceptible foundation, I suspected that the method of application<\/strong> had some kind of imlportance… The brand recommends an application with your finger tips or a foundation brush (the 108 Large Brush Foundation by MUFE<\/a> is even recommended).<\/p>\n

I have tried many different ways to apply to have the better result. Here are my conclusions after several tries.<\/p>\n
