I’m a big\u00a0fan of\u00a0Laura Mercier<\/a>\u00a0for the base products. But I confess I’ve never really got interested in\u00a0her lipsticks\u00a0range.
\nBut this summer, when I was in\u00a0Paris, I dragged my sister to the department store (poor her lol), and the Laura Mercier Autumn Collection caught my eye. Especially\u00a0the\u00a0Lip Parfait\u00a0in Amaretto Swirl<\/strong>, a beautiful pink nude.<\/p>\n

After trying it, I definitely\u00a0needed\u00a0other colors from the range! smile<\/span> <\/p>\n

So this is a 3 in 1 product<\/strong>: as nourishing as a lip balm<\/strong>, but with the pigmentation and the coverage of a real lipstick<\/strong> and the shiny effect of a lipgloss<\/strong>.
\nThis is the kind of product that I love because you can just slip it into your bag to do some touch-ups\u00a0easily during\u00a0the day (sometimes without mirror depending on the shades) and\u00a0you end up with\u00a0super comfortable lips!<\/p>\n

But as a result this type of product may have certain issues, especially in terms of lasting power, because this kind of very creamy texture may bleed\u00a0sometimes and\/or simply disappear after a short amount of time.<\/p>\n

So let’s see if the Lip Parfait is actually perfect or not! wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

–\u00a0Packaging:\u00a0<\/strong>ok, let’s begin with something which I found disappointing with\u00a0this product. The packaging is very pretty and sleek,\u00a0and I love the detail of the\u00a0Laura Mercier signature inside the tube. But when I took it in my hand, I was very surprised by its weight. It’s very light!
\nYou will probably think I’m being\u00a0posh and fancy, but I didn’t like that… It’s silly but I didn’t want my luxury 25$\u00a0lipstick to weigh the same as a drugstore lip balm. I know it’s just details, but luxury has its codes and I find it a bit of a shame from\u00a0the brand.<\/p>\n

– Formula:\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0formula is great; they’re very shiny on the lips but also almost plumping, a bit like the beautiful Pure Color Envy by Est\u00e9e Lauder<\/a> and all that in an ultra-creamy texture which feels super light on the lips thanks to ingredients such as waxes<\/strong>, shea butter<\/strong> and brown algae<\/strong> that nourish and moisturize the lips. There are also vitamins A, E and C<\/strong> which have an anti-aging preventive effect. In short, the Lip Parfait\u00a0really takes care of your lips by sublimating them in the same time.<\/p>\n

– Texture:<\/strong>\u00a0as I said above, the texture is very nice, it literally melts<\/strong> on the lips. Like a lip butter, except it’s more than just that!<\/p>\n

– Perfume:\u00a0<\/strong>a very light<\/strong> vanilla scent. A little too light for me, I would have loved something more noticeable.<\/p>\n

– Application:\u00a0<\/strong>the tip is round and quite fine, so the application is easy<\/strong> and precise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

– Feeling on the lips\/Comfort: <\/strong>the comfort<\/strong> is very present in this formula, it’s a real bonus. The lips stay moisturized all day.<\/p>\n

– Pigmentation:\u00a0<\/strong>I don’t really want to call this product a “lip balm” because clearly, the pigmentation and the coverage are the same as for\u00a0a traditional lipstick<\/strong>. And not a sheer one!<\/p>\n

– Colors: <\/strong>there are 12 colors<\/strong> in the range. I chose this 3:<\/p>\n

  1. Amaretto Swirl: <\/strong>a beautiful pink nude<\/strong> that is not at all like a “lip concealer”, you know, that horrendous pale\u00a0beige lipstick that almost erases your lips. No, here it’s\u00a0a nice natural color that makes a discreet but sexy mouth. It’s my favorite!<\/li>\n
  2. Sweet Guava:\u00a0<\/strong>a bright orange-red<\/strong>, like a “watermelon” shade. Typically the kind of color I love in summer.<\/li>\n
  3. Tutti Frutti:\u00a0<\/strong>a lovely\u00a0plum,<\/strong> perfect for fall. But\u00a0it’s quite glittery<\/strong>. It’s funny, a few years ago, I would have loved it, but now I find myself a little ridiculous with glittery lips! Okay, I’m exaggerating, these are micro-mini glitter particles which remain subtle and discreet but I would have preferred without any, I must confess …<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    – Finish: <\/strong>a\u00a0wet-shine <\/strong>finish, almost\u00a0<\/em>glossy. <\/em>I love it, it gives a very yummy\u00a0effect to the lips! wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

    – Lasting Power:<\/strong> I was a little bit disappointed here, not by the actual lasting power of\u00a0the Lip Parfait which stays on the lips a\u00a0rather long time (4-5 hours, which is not bad for this type of texture) but more by how it behaves on the lips. It moves a lot<\/strong>! First, it spreads on your\u00a0teeth very easily (and really, I have to thank Photoshop from the bottom of my heart because I realized obviously after taking the pictures that I had a lot of\u00a0Sweet Guava and Tutti Frutti on my\u00a0teeth -_-). And secondly, it tends to bleed\u00a0on the lips contour. That being said, I tried applying a lip pencil<\/strong> before and it completely solves the problem. And I didn’t have any of these issues\u00a0with Amaretto Swirl, perhaps because it’s a lighter color, I don’t know…<\/p>\n

    – Value For Money:\u00a0<\/strong>it’s a good product in general but the small\u00a0negative points make it\u00a0slightly too expensive for me… Because\u00a0for $25, I would have preferred a real\u00a0killer\u00a0packaging and a product that doesn’t spread on to my teeth… wink<\/span> <\/p>\n
