2. She was born in Mexico from 2 Argentine parents. Her father has German origins and her mother has Italian Spanish and Mexican origins.<\/p>\n

3. She created a music festival, which is also a tattoo convention in California: Musink<\/a>.<\/p>\n

4. The Eagles Of Death Metal's song High Voltage<\/a><\/em>\u00a0is about her.<\/p>\n

In France, Kat Von D<\/strong> is not that famous\u00a0but in\u00a0the US, UK, Australia, even the UAE, she’s a star<\/strong>.
\nNot only is she one of the most famous tattoo artists in the world<\/strong>, who tattooed tons of Hollywood celebrities.\u00a0She\u00a0has her own salon in Los Angeles since 2007 and\u00a0she’s also famous\u00a0thanks to her\u00a0reality TV show, LA Ink<\/a> that showed her life in her salon with\u00a0her team of tattoo artists. It mostly\u00a0showed\u00a0celebrities coming to get a\u00a0tattoo.
\nHer TV show lasted until 2011 but in the meantime, Kat Von D created her own makeup brand, distributed in Sephora US<\/a> and recently on her\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To be honest, not being particularly interested in tattoos (I like them but on others, not on myself), before she created her brand makeup, I\u00a0didn’t know her very well.
\nShe’s\u00a0also often associated with the American rock scene, which is a type of music that I usually love but the Californian rock has never been my favorite (well, apart from Queens Of The Stone Age and Eagles Of Death Metal).
\nSo definitely for me, her name is mainly\u00a0associated with her make-up line<\/strong> (if you love tattoos, you probably hate me right now lol)(it’s OK, I can totally understand ;P ).
\nSince last year, the brand is distributed in Sephora Middle East, so it’s much easier for me to get the\u00a0products, including the famous Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick<\/strong> that many beauty bloggers describe as the best liquid lipstick’s formula in the\u00a0market<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I’ll be honest, for me, they’re not (the best)<\/strong>. Even if I find them pretty good, I have several reasons to prefer other formulas to them…<\/p>\n

It’s a high pigmentation\u00a0liquid lipstick<\/strong>, with a completely matte finish<\/strong>. The brand speaks of a very long-lasting power: 24h<\/strong>\u00a0(???) (who keeps their lipstick on for 24h?)(#definitelytoooldforthat) but also a true comfort<\/strong>\u00a0on the lips thanks to the skincare ingredients\u00a0in the formula<\/strong>.
\nThere are 28 colors<\/strong> in the range and the unit price is $20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, my test and thoughts:<\/h3>\n
\"Kat<\/a><\/div>\n

–\u00a0Packaging: <\/strong>pretty cool and original. It’s in the image of Kat Von D, with this very Californian rock tattoo vibe, and a Latin inspiration with the calligraphic roses on the cap, cool tribute to the artist’s origins.<\/p>\n

– Texture:\u00a0<\/strong>creamy while being quite liquid in the same time. It applies easily, without bleeding.<\/p>\n

– Finish: <\/strong>it’s a completely matte finish<\/strong> that dries super quickly\u00a0after application, leaving a velvety effect on the lips. The formula is transfer and kiss-proof. wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

– Scent: <\/strong>they’ve got a slightly\u00a0sweet smell, but quite\u00a0subtle.\u00a0I like it, it’s not overpowering.<\/p>\n

– Pigmentation:\u00a0<\/strong>excellent, and also is the opacity on the lips. The color is true to what you see\u00a0in the tube and in general, they apply evenly on the lips. The only shade that gave me a bit of trouble in terms of application was\u00a0Bauhau5, which is less homogeneous than the others. But with two thin layers, it was OK.<\/p>\n

\u00a0– Color Range: <\/strong>clearly, I don’t think that I’m the target of this lipstick range. Apart from\u00a0some colors (which are basically the ones I own), I find the colors of the range very dark and\/or dull on me. With my skin tone (and let’s face it, my age<\/strong>), most weren’t very flattering. I prefer by far the shade range of the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks<\/a> for example.
\nHowever, I think the color range is quite trendy\u00a0and some of the Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick shades are totally\u00a0cult favorite colors (and always out of stock): Lolita<\/strong> (which doesn’t suit me at all but fits\u00a0my little sister or my friend LuAnne<\/a> like a glove) or Bow N Arrow<\/strong> (I haven’t even tried it, that sort of beige nude shade\u00a0looks like baby poo on me\u00a0:\/).<\/p>\n

– Application:\u00a0<\/strong>a bit laborious because the applicator wand\u00a0is super long and it doesn’t really help for the application… However, the applicator is quite good: small and precise, it distributes the right amount of product on the lips and can draw a pretty and sharp lip contour.<\/p>\n

\"Kat<\/a><\/div>\n

– Feeling on the lips: <\/strong>they dry completely to become completely matte on the lips, and they’re not tacky at all like some other thicker formulas, that you can \u00a0“feel” more on the lips.
\nComfort wise, I wouldn’t say that they’re drying, but they’re certainly not moisturizing despite the hydrating ingredients. These are not the most drying liquid lipsticks I tried (for now, this record is still shared between the ColourPop Ultra-Matte Lip<\/a> and the MAC Retro Matte liquid lipsticks<\/a> tongue<\/span> ).<\/p>\n

– Lasting Power:<\/strong>\u00a0average. They last 5-6 hours<\/strong> max on me and they don’t resist a meal. It’s far from the 24h promised by the brand! However, they fade quite nicely during the day, without crumbling\u00a0or doing that awful “butt-hole lips” effect, which is pretty cool.<\/p>\n

– Value For Money: <\/strong>I find that the formula is not bad but the color range is not really for me. If you like these kinds of shades, I would say this is a pretty decent\u00a0value for money. Their price is $20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, the shades:<\/h3>\n

– Lolita: <\/strong>a cult favorite color, probably because it’s a very\u00a0Kylie Jenner<\/a> kind of shade, a 90’s pinkish mauvy brown<\/strong>. Unfortunately, on me it looks very dark, very \u00a0brown and I can’t\u00a0really see the pink undertone… Thankfully, I purchased the mini version, sold with the color Lolita II which I love.<\/p>\n

– Lolita II:\u00a0<\/strong>a beautiful light beige orange terracotta<\/strong> shade, which I never thought I’d love! When I ordered the kit of 2 mini lipstick, it was mainly to try Lolita which was\u00a0quite disappointing on\u00a0me. And in fact, I had a real crush\u00a0for Lolita II instead! Right now, this is one of my favorite liquid\u00a0lipsticks shades and I wear it quite often (at least once a week and with my huge lipstick\u00a0collection, it’s a lot bigsmile<\/span> ).<\/p>\n

– Lovesick: <\/strong>a light mauve pink<\/strong>. I expected it to be a bit more nude, to tell you the truth. Because this kind of color is a little tricky to wear for\u00a0me: sometimes it goes very well (usually it’s when I pair\u00a0with warm colors on my eyes\u00a0to counterbalance), sometimes it\u00a0doesn’t work\u00a0and I look like a zombie. If I use\u00a0a nude pink \u00a0pencil to warm it up\u00a0(like MAC Boldly Bare<\/a> for example), it helps.<\/p>\n

– Bachelorette: <\/strong>a\u00a0sublime pinky red<\/strong>, with\u00a0slightly warm undertones. Typically\u00a0the kind of color\u00a0I love at the moment\u00a0and which\u00a0is perfect to give you life if \u00a0you\u00a0look\u00a0like shit<\/del> exhausted.<\/p>\n

– Bauhau5: <\/strong>it’s a beautiful magenta pink<\/strong>\u00a0with cool undertones. The perfect spring shade! It’s super luminous and it really lights up the face.<\/p>\n

\u00a0– Outlaw:\u00a0<\/strong>a beautiful deep red<\/strong>, with slightly warm undertones. I think I\u00a0don’t\u00a0need to talk more about my addiction to red lipsticks. It’s typically the color I choose\u00a0when I have zero inspiration for my makeup\u00a0and which\u00a0always works.<\/p>\n

In summary, I like the colors I own\u00a0and I find that the formula is pretty decent\u00a0(without being the best on the market) but I’m much prefer\u00a0the colors in the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick<\/a> range, or the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip<\/a> liquid lipsticks’\u00a0formula for example.<\/p>\n
