Today, I won’t talk about the second collab between BECCA and Jaclyn Hill, which is absolutely EVERYWHERE<\/a>\u00a0(and very out of stock) but I will instead tell you more about the\u00a0BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes<\/a>. These blushes\u00a0are not a limited edition and also very interesting, in my opinion.<\/h2>\n

I love\u00a0blushes<\/strong>.\u00a0And it’s quite funny\u00a0because for years, I didn’t use any, simply because I didn’t know which color to use and where to apply it on my cheeks. It turned out that the problem was mainly that my blush brush was 10 times too big and obviously\u00a0made me look like a clown with any color because it just basically applied\u00a0the product everywhere…
\nSo now that I am properly equipped<\/a> and that I’m able to see the difference that a\u00a0blush makes on my face, I couldn’t do without it!<\/p>\n

Most of the time,\u00a0I use matte blushes because they’re more natural but it’s true that a beautiful\u00a0shimmery\u00a0blush<\/strong> can give a lot of light to\u00a0the face and especially in\u00a0summertime, I love this glowy effect!<\/p>\n

And some fresh and glowy cheeks<\/strong>, that’s exactly what the Australian brand BECCA promises\u00a0with its new Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes<\/strong>.
\nWhen these blushes were released\u00a0and I saw the first pictures, I thought they were probably too iridescent for me but after seeing some swatches, I thought that they looked very pretty. So,\u00a0I finally decided to order\u00a0two of them: Camellia and Snapdragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What the brand says about them:<\/p>\n

Specially designed to flatter all skintones, this collection is inspired by the fan favorite Shimmering Skin Perfector\u2014just the right balance of color and light.
\nWear them alone for subtle blushed luminosity, or as a blush topper layered on top of your favorite matte blush for an added pop of radiance. <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These blushes are part of the BECCA\u00a0Shimmering Skin Perfector <\/strong>range, same as\u00a0the raved-about highlighters\u00a0(like\u00a0the famous\u00a0Champagne Pop created in collaboration with the YouTuber Jaclyn Hill<\/a>).<\/p>\n

When I read the description given by the brand, I was expecting a very shiny blush, like\u00a0the highlighters in the same range but they don’t have the same metallic\u00a0effect.
\nBECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes are indeed very luminous but with a subtle shimmery\u00a0effect<\/strong>, without any\u00a0big chunks of\u00a0glitter (I’m not a fan of glitter). There are iridescent particles in the formula but they’re very\u00a0fine, and they just give a perfect glowy effect on the cheek. They don’t emphasize\u00a0pores or the irregularities of my oily skin, and they give a nice volume<\/strong> to my cheeks.<\/p>\n

The range of colors includes 6 different\u00a0shades<\/strong> that fit all the different skin tones. I chose 2 very Spring\/Summer colors: Camellia<\/strong> and Snapdragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

– Formula\/Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I start with what I love the less\u00a0in these blushes, the\u00a0composition. Exactly like\u00a0in the\u00a0highlighters from the same range, they have 3 mineral oils derivatives<\/strong> in the ingredients. For a luxurious brand like\u00a0BECCA (and with these prices!), I don’t really understand this choice of ingredients.
\nThese are cheap and far from\u00a0noble ingredients… This is the kind of components you usually find in cheap brands, not really in a blush that\u00a0costs $34. It’s kind of disappointing… uneasy<\/span> <\/p>\n

– Packaging:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0blushes\u00a0are in a very sleek compact with mirror<\/strong>, the same as in the highlighters but smaller.<\/p>\n

– Fini:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The finish is quite shimmery. It’s very luminous\u00a0but without metallic or glittery effect.
\nJust to show you the difference, here is a photo where I swatched BECCA Snapdragon next to the famous NARS Orgasm, which is very\u00a0glittery (you will also notice the difference in pigmentation ;P ):<\/p>\n

– Color Range:<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are 6 different shades\u00a0<\/strong>in the range and I really like this choice of colors. They’re all absolutely stunning, very trendy\u00a0and above all, they match every skin tone, the very light ones and the\u00a0darker ones.<\/p>\n

I chose Camellia<\/strong>, a very fresh light pink with silver reflects<\/strong>, which gives a fantastic glow to the skin\u00a0and Snapdragon<\/strong>, a sublime pink coral with golden reflects, absolutely gorgeous\u00a0and which\u00a0can go with so\u00a0many different complexions.<\/p>\n

– Pigmentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are very, very pigmented<\/strong>! You really need\u00a0a light hand with these blushes.
\nThe brand also advises to use them on top of a matte blush but honestly, with this\u00a0pigmentation, it doesn’t seem really necessary!<\/p>\n

– Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The application must be very light, with a brush that is not too dense\u00a0<\/strong>to avoid applying too much product on the cheeks.
\nMy two favorite to use\u00a0with these blushes are the NARS Yachiyo Brush<\/a>, which is perfect to\u00a0diffuse very naturally\u00a0the blush or\u00a0the Bobbi Brown Blush Brush<\/a> which blends perfectly the product on the cheeks.<\/p>\n

– Lasting Power:<\/strong><\/p>\n

They’re long lasting<\/strong>. On me,\u00a0they last 8 hours on the cheeks.<\/p>\n

– Value For Money:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m a little annoyed by the composition, because I don’t think that the price is necessarily justified with this formula<\/strong>…\u00a0It’s such a shame, because I really like them. But $34\u00a0is still an expensive price tag.<\/p>\n

I’d be the n\u00b01 BECCA’s fan if they would decide to stop using these\u00a0kind of ingredient\u00a0in their formula. But meanwhile, I also have to say that I’m a big fan of the colors and the overall quality of these blushes. Their price is just a bit too high regarding\u00a0to their composition, in my opinion.<\/p>\n
