“Hello, my name is Bonnie and I’m addicted to blushes” “Hello Bonniiiiiiiie!” I could easily picture myself in a BAA meeting\u00a0(Blushes Addict Anonymous) after I purchased the entire collection of the new\u00a0Makeup Geek blushes<\/a>! wink<\/span> <\/h2>\n

I really don’t speak enough of \u00a0the great\u00a0Makeup Geek<\/a> products here. Yet, I love them and have loved them for at least 2 years. I first I discovered their amazing eyeshadows and I never stopped collecting their products since then! wink<\/span>
\nI\u00a0really need to finally write this post I promised myself to do\u00a0on my MUG collection but I have this feeling\u00a0it’ll be a very long process ah ah ah…<\/p>\n

In short, MUG products are overall great quality products<\/strong> (the composition is excellent, talc-free,\u00a0cruelty free and some of the products are even vegan and gluten-free)\u00a0with a very good pigmentation<\/strong> and a good lasting power<\/strong>. The color choice is getting better and better and the shades are lovely<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Although I know the MUG eyeshadows very well, I must confess that I don’t really know their blush range. Well, it’s\u00a0not entirely true because I owned 2-3 (before I purchased almost the entire new collection, ahem) and I liked them very much, especially one of them, Spell Bound<\/a>, which is one of my\u00a0favorite blush of all time. bigsmile<\/span> <\/p>\n

And a few months ago, Marlena<\/a>, the founder\u00a0of Makeup Geek announced that the blushes will be completely redesigned<\/strong>, their formula improved<\/strong> and some new colors added<\/strong>. I thought it was the perfect\u00a0opportunity to place\u00a0an small<\/del> order! bigsmile<\/span> <\/p>\n

The blushes I review\u00a0in this post are a mix between the old ones I already own<\/strong> (Bliss and Romance) and the new ones I recently ordered<\/strong> (Cherish, Puppy Love, Love Letter, XOXO, Rendez Vous, and even Spell Bound I re-ordered in its improved version because I love it so much).<\/p>\n

Makeup Geek blushes, presentation:<\/h3>\n
\"Makeup<\/a><\/div>\n

What the brand says about them:<\/p>\n

The range includes 20 shades<\/strong>, organized according to 4 complexion types:
\n– Porcelaine<\/strong>\/ very fair skin: Secret Admirer, Promise Ring, Bliss<\/strong>, Blind Date, Cherish<\/strong>.
\n– Fair<\/strong>\/ light skin tones: Spell Bound<\/strong>, Romance<\/strong>, Main Squeeze, Heart Throb, Love Letter<\/strong>.
\n– Medium<\/strong>\/ medium complexions: XOXO<\/strong>, Infatuation, Puppy Love<\/strong>, Soul Mate, Valentine.
\n– Deep<\/strong>\/ darker skin tones: Summer Fling, Rendez Vous<\/strong>, Desire, Chivalry, Covet.<\/p>\n

The brand recommends to choose\u00a0the colors based on your complexion<\/strong>\u00a0but you can also go up or down a town<\/strong> according to the intensity of the result you\u00a0want on your\u00a0cheeks. I find this color chart quite\u00a0good and I used it to\u00a0choose the colors of my blushes\u00a0although I also chose them according to my taste! wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

I have a light\u00a0skin tone so the most suitable colors for me are those that match the Fair complexion<\/strong>. I chose 3 blushes from\u00a0this category. But the fact that the intensity of the blush can\u00a0adapt to the color of the skin is also very handy if like me for example, you\u00a0like the peach or coral blushes but it’s not the most flattering color on your skin. A lighter\u00a0version is so much easier to use and won’t clash with your skin tone.<\/p>\n

Most Makeup Geek blushes are matte<\/strong>, which I personally prefer because I find them more natural and I can always add luminosity\u00a0where I want to with a highlighter.<\/p>\n

– Formula\/Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I said above, the MUG blushes formula is quite impeccable<\/strong>: talc-free, paraben-free (it\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0especially concern me, but I know it can be a concern for many people), cruelty-free and for some colors, vegan and gluten-free. Makeup Geek has its own laboratory and all products are manufactured in the United States.<\/p>\n

– Packaging:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I chose the\u00a0pan<\/strong>\u00a0version, which is magnetic and can be placed\u00a0in a empty palette (here, it’s a Z-Palette Large<\/a>) because they are a little cheaper ($10) but they also exist in a compact version<\/a><\/strong>, in a lovely metallic compact with mirror and a magnetic closure! These retailed for\u00a0$ 15.<\/p>\n

– Finish:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of them are matte for a more natural effect on the cheeks but some of them are slightly shimmery. In those I own, this is the case for\u00a0Romance, it contains gold shimmer.
\nThe others are luminous matte\u00a0and they’re not dull at all. They don’t feel powdery on the skin.<\/p>\n

– Colour range:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have also mentioned it above, there are 20 different colors<\/strong> and they’re suitable for all skin colors! This is a very wide range and I personally think the colors are very pretty, flattering and natural. I can easily\u00a0imagine a makeup artist using them in their professional kit!<\/p>\n

\"Makeup<\/a><\/div>\n

– Pigmentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I find the pigmentation very good<\/strong>. Some colors for lighter skin tones are slightly less pigmented but I don’t say that in a negative sense, as they are supposed to be like this\u00a0for the lighter skins on which certain colors can quickly appear\u00a0too much. Also, they’re quite buildable\u00a0if you want to\u00a0intensify the result.<\/p>\n

– Application:<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are really easy to blend<\/strong>, even the darker colors! If you are afraid of blushes because you don’t want to look like a clown, these blushes are perfect for you! Because\u00a0even if you apply too much, they blend like a dream, no\u00a0risk of staining the skin!
\nI applied and I blend them with a blush brush (with natural or synthetic bristles, it doesn’t make\u00a0any\u00a0difference wink<\/span> ).<\/p>\n

– Lasting power:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would say their lasting power is quite average<\/strong> (6 to 8 hours on me). That’s quite honorable but they’re not the most long-lasting\u00a0blush\u00a0I own (considering\u00a0that a long-lasting blush remains quite rare on my oily skin wink<\/span> ).<\/p>\n

– Value for money:<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me, the quality is definitely here! And $10 to $15<\/strong> for a blush\u00a0is not excessive at all. smile<\/span> <\/p>\n

Makeup Geek blushes, colours and\u00a0swatches:<\/h3>\n
\"Makeup<\/a><\/div>\n

– Bliss<\/a>:<\/strong> a beautiful light peach with a matte finish. The orange shades are not the most flattering on me\u00a0but this one is\u00a0very easy to wear and perfect for summer.<\/p>\n

– Cherish<\/a>: <\/strong>a nude with warm undertones, almost apricot. One of those colors that goes with everything and that just gives a little pop of color on the cheeks without being too much! wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

– Puppy Love<\/a>: <\/strong>one of my favorites! A light pinkish brown, kind of nude but more intense! It’s a color that goes well with many skin tones because it’s still a neutral shade.<\/p>\n

– Romance<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>the only shimmery MUG blush\u00a0I own. It’s a peach\u00a0with very fine gold glitter. It’s not a chunky glitter\u00a0but a very subtle luminous\u00a0effect. Perfect when I have a slight tan because it enhances it.<\/p>\n

\"Makeup<\/a>\"Makeup<\/a><\/div>\n

– Spell Bound<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>my number 1! smile<\/span> It’s a very clear coral pink, super flattering \u00a0on light skin and I think it goes with every\u00a0makeup looks! It enhances the cheeks in a very natural and subtle way.<\/p>\n

\u00a0– Love Letter<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>a dusty mauve pink, with cool undertones. For me, it’s more of a winter color but it still looks super pretty with peachy lips for example. wink<\/span> <\/p>\n

– XOXO<\/a>:<\/strong> I love it! It’s a hot pink, like a light\u00a0watermelon. It’s extremely bright, and it gives a lot of radiance to the face without being “clownish”.<\/p>\n

– Rendez Vous<\/a>:\u00a0<\/strong>a stunning fuchsia, bright and pigmented. On my skin, a little goes a long way\u00a0to give a lot of radiance to the complexion! smile<\/span> <\/p>\n
